The 2nd Batch of “Supervision in the Hospitality Industry” training programme certificate giving ceremony

The certificate presentation day for the 2nd Batch of training programme “Supervision in the Hospitality Industry” held from December 2009 till April 2010 under the sponsorship from Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (N.C.I.A) in collaboration with M.A.H as the organizer and Sentral Technology College, Penang as the training provider.



This is the 2nd batch of 30 hotel participants from 10 different hotels chosen from various departments (Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, Banqueting, Purchasing, Human Resource and Front Office) to participate in this “Supervision in the Hospitality Industry” training programme sponsored by Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) and organized by Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)-Penang Chapter and SENTRAL being the training provider.

The 10 participating hotels for this training programme are as follows:
G-Hotel, Cititel, Hydro Hotel, Equatorial Hotel, Bayview Beach Resort, Paradise Sandy Beach Resort, Berjaya Hotel, Parkroyal, Holiday Inn Resort and Eastin Hotel.
 
The jubilant participants recently had their certificate giving ceremony after having attended a total of 16 sessions of lecture, case studies, assignments and group presentations.  
 
The certificate giving was held on 19th April 2010 at Cititel Hotel, Penang for the Monday class and on 21st April 2010 at Hydro hotel, Penang for the Wednesday class.  
 
The program for the certificate giving was well attended by the various participating hotels’ General Managers, Human Resource Managers and various department heads who came to give their full support to their staff after having completed the “Supervision in the Hospitality Industry” training which was sponsored by NCIA under the 2009 “Stimulus Package”.
 
All participants gave a brief speech thanking NCIA, MAH and their trainers (Ms Pauline Sin & Ms Joanna Phang) from SENTRAL and complimented their training. They were excited and happy to have received their certificates at the end of an enriching and rewarding time. 
 
Here are some comments made by the participants from the various hotels.
 
1) R’mee Jamali Bin Jamaluddin, Assistant Manager (F/O), Paradise Sandy Beach Resort
        - This course helps us to build up self-confident in handling current situation
          and helps us to gain
very useful knowledge in supervisory skill.
 
2) Kerrie Anne Tan, Guest Service Supervisor(F/B), Paradise Sandy Beach Resort
        -This programme is very beneficial to all participants because it prepares us
          for more managerial 
point of view towards our work and responsibilities.
 
3) Usezanee Binti Mokhtar, Guest Service Agent, Cititel Penang
        - All topics were explained clearly and excellently.
        - Good for ourselves because when we face any problem in the future, we already
           have the 
knowledge on how to handle or solve it.
 
4) Yeoh Hui Chean(Amy), Purchasing Officer, G Hotel

      
- It teaches us to be more professional in supervising our staffs as well as the
         different methods on 
solving problems amongst staffs.  Also learned
         useful ideas and insights in dealing with associates.

5) Zalrul Baharin B. Zulkifli, Housekeeping Floor Supervisor, Holiday Inn Resort
        - I would be very happy to recommend this course to my friend as I believe this
          course is good and 
able to lead us to be a good leader. All the topics chosen
          were also very good.
 
6) Raguppathi Karruppiah, Guest Service Officer, G Hotel
        - Very good and detailed notes, explanations, easy to understand and good value
          for the certificate.
             
7) Azlifah Bt. Shaikh Alaudin, Assistant Chief Cashier, Bayview Beach Resort
        -The information provided is very useful in my working place.
 
8) Komathi Goonaseram, Human Resources Clerk, Bayview Beach Resort
        -The course is enjoyable, we do learn a lot of things.
        -There was a lot of things/guidance/knowledge that I learned from this course.
       - I want others to learn and experience this course too.
 
9) Daniel Dass Bin Abdullah, Food And Beverage Supervisor, Hydro Hotel
        -The course is magnificent and awesome.
        - A basic knowledge about different elements of my job, skills, attitudes and
         
leadership.
 
10) Kam Su Ning, Training and Development Executive, Hotel Equatorial
        - It helps people from lower level to understand management point of view, their
          job requirement 
and standard performance.
