Storytelling Showcase 2026: Bringing Stories to Life Through Creativity and Communication

The School of Education & General Studies, SENTRAL College Penang, successfully organised a Storytelling Showcase titled “A Cat Called Stripe” on 21 October 2026, featuring students from the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) programme enrolled in the LEC3113 English for Communication module.

The showcase provided students with an opportunity to develop their English language proficiency, creativity, confidence and public speaking skills through an engaging storytelling performance. Students brought the story to life through expressive narration, character portrayal, and teamwork, creating an enjoyable learning experience for the audience.

Beyond fulfilling an academic assessment, the activity encouraged students to overcome communication barriers, build self-confidence and apply storytelling techniques relevant to their future roles as early childhood educators.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to all lecturers, staff and students who attended and supported the showcase. Special congratulations to the student performers for their dedication, courage and enthusiasm in delivering a memorable performance.

This initiative reflects SENTRAL College Penang’s commitment to promoting experiential learning, creative expression, and effective communication skills beyond the classroom.
