“It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”
We hosted an inspiring panel discussion titled “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness. Our distinguished panelists, Dr. Wong Yim Chan (Consultant Psychiatrist, Island Hospital), Ms. Saras Pillay (Chairman, Befrienders), and Pastor Sunny Tan (Head Chaplain, Penang Adventist Hospital), shared heartfelt insights on emotional well-being, resilience and the importance of reaching out. Their perspectives reminded us that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. The session was thoughtfully moderated by Evelyn Chuah, PJM, who guided the conversation with warmth and clarity.
The session was organised to highlight that mental health is a shared responsibility and an essential part of overall well-being. Many people struggle in silence, and conversations like this help break the stigma by encouraging openness, understanding and compassion. Our hope is to foster a campus and community where everyone feels safe to speak up, seek help and support one another. A meaningful reminder that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.
