Learning Beyond the Lecture Halls: Real Impact, Real Growth.
Our Diploma in Tourism Management students recently took on the challenge of organising the “Future-Proofing in Manjung, Perak for Tourism Business” seminar. This wasn’t just a classroom exercise—it was a deep dive into the dynamic world of tourism, exploring digital marketing, emerging trends, and the power of community-based travel.
From initial budgeting and speaker coordination to final execution, our students owned the entire project lifecycle. However, the most profound lesson came when they faced an unexpected hurdle: lower-than-expected attendance. Rather than viewing this as a failure, they pivoted, analysed the gaps, and uncovered a critical industry truth: flawless planning must be matched by proactive marketing and genuine participant engagement.
This experience sharpened their adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork—the very skills that define tomorrow’s industry leaders.
