Bringing Heritage to Life, One Story at a Time
Our Diploma in Tourism Management (DTM) students stepped up as proud volunteers at the George Town Heritage Celebrations 2026: Kongsi Cerita – A Celebration of Stories and Traditions.
Divided into two groups, our students served on 4 July and 7 July 2026, immersing themselves in the heartbeat of our city’s cultural legacy. This was more than a volunteering gig—it was a living classroom. From engaging with international visitors to collaborating with event organisers and local communities, they sharpened their communication skills, boosted their confidence, and learned the art of professional hospitality in a dynamic, real-world setting.
Beyond the logistics, they walked away with something far more valuable: a deeper appreciation for Penang’s intangible heritage. They witnessed first-hand how cultural preservation and tourism go hand in hand, and how every smile, every story shared, contributes to an unforgettable visitor experience.
