Justice in Action: Rehabilitation or Punishment?
What happens when young people cross the line—do they deserve a second chance or strict punishment? On 9/7/26, SENTRAL College Penang tackled this critical question head-on during our Student Awareness Talk: Juvenile Offences – Rehabilitation or Punishment?
We were honoured to welcome Mr. Ng Kian Nam, Managing Partner of NG KIAN NAM & PARTNERS, who delivered a powerful and thought-provoking session that went beyond the law books. He guided our students through the realities of juvenile justice, legal responsibilities, and the profound impact that rehabilitation can have in reshaping young lives.
The energy in the room was electric as students didn’t just sit and listen—they leaned in, challenged ideas, and seized the opportunity to ask sharp, thoughtful questions during the interactive Q&A, walking away with eye-opening insights into how one decision can alter a future. This wasn’t just about understanding the legal system; it was about empowering our students to make informed choices, think critically, and step into the world as responsible, law-abiding citizens.
A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Ng Kian Nam for sharing his invaluable expertise and to every participant who made this programme truly meaningful. At SENTRAL, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom—we are committed to nurturing holistic, socially-aware individuals who are ready to lead with integrity and wisdom.
